Good News

Hello everyone. It's a gray December morning.

This coming Sunday, I will minister in my home church, the Green Ridge Assembly of God in Scranton, Pennsylvnaia. As always, my pastor, David Twiss, is extremely generous to hand me his pulpit. I will be preaching a Christmas message entitled, Good News. Please pray that the Lord will drive home the thought that we have Good News, the gospel story to proclaim to the world.

My heart is hanging on that thought...Good News. The good news is God's news, the gospel story. That's why Jesus came. To bring us the good news that we can be reconciled to God. My heart is moved by the thought that God so loved the world...He loved me. Emmanuel has come!

As your Christmas season begins, linger in the thought of the Good News that we possess through Jesus.

Give Thanks

Hello everyone. We had our first snowstorm of the season yesterday. I'm glad the warmer weather is melting the snow away today.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Central Assembly of God in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where Pastor Cole McClenithan serves as Lead Pastor. Please pray that the services will go well and that people will be challenged by the Word of God. There is power in the Word that God has given to us.

The old chorus from the 1980's, "Give Thanks" is going through my head. The first line goes "Give thanks with a grateful heart". I suppose that line should govern our lives all year and not just during the week of Thanksgiving. As I look back over 2007, there are many things that I could give thanks for, both little and big. The blessings that flow from Jesus are many...too many to ever record. With a grateful heart, will you join me in thanks to our Savior. Worthy of all praise is He.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Off To Springfield

In a few hours I'll be boarding a plane to head to Springfield, Missouri for a meeting with the National Evangelists Committee of the Assemblies of God at our national headquarters. I'm a little excited...okay a lot excited! Needless to say, I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night. Please pray that everything will go well with my airplane flights. I'd hate to miss the connection in Chicago. I'll be getting home on Saturday evening.

On Sunday, I'll be ministering at Beacon of Light Community Church in Old Forge, Pennsylvania. I'm really glad that this church is close. Pray that God will minister there.

I've got to finish packing. Blessings to you all.

One Busy Week

Good evening everyone. I wish I could say that I feel good, but honestly, my nose is plugged up and I have very little speaking voice. I'd appreciate your prayers.

This coming week is going to be extremely hectic. On Sunday through Wednesday, I will be ministering at the Parsonville Assembly of God in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania. This is a brand new place of ministry for me and I enjoy when the Lord places me somewhere new to minister His Word. Please pray that Jesus will be exalted and people will be drawn to Him. Again, please pray for my voice and throat. Those are two very important things for an evangelist.

After that revival, I drive home on Thursday and fly out to Springfield, Missouri. Several months ago, I was invited by the Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God to serve on the National Evangelists Committee. This will be my first meeting. I'm excited and a little nervous. Please pray that my flight out and back will go well and that I won't do one of my infamous clumsy ways of saying something while I'm at our headquarters. I will fly back to Pennsylvania on Saturday.

So as you can see, my week is pretty full. God is good and I'm grateful for every opportunity He brings my way. Have a good one. And remember, your steps are ordered by the Lord.
