Press On

Good morning. It seems that summer has disappeared for a few days but it's coming back later this week. Yeah!

This coming weekend, I will be ministering at Abundant Life Assembly of God in Altoona, Pennsylvania. On Friday night, I will minister at a Ladies Refreshing service that will be open to all the churches in the South Central West section. On Sunday, I will minister to the congregation in both the morning and evening services. I just sense that the Lord wants to come and move...to bring a fresh touch to His people. Will you pray that these meetings will do just that.

For the past several months, I have been running 3 miles a day about 5 to 6 times a week. There are times when I don't feel like doing it but I find myself faithfully getting on a treadmill or running on the streets. The end results far outweigh any hesitations I have to not run. Due to my efforts, I have lost weight and I'm in the best shape I've been in years. Our Christian walk may at times feel like that. There are times we may not feel like spiritually training, by that I mean reading our Bibles and praying. But the final outcome, a mature walk with Christ and fellowship with Him, far outweigh any present distractions. Like the Apostle Paul, may we "press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14)

Preaching In Newburgh

Good morning everyone. It is a lovely summer morning outside.

This coming Sunday, I will be preaching at the last church where I served as a youth pastor, the Newburgh Assembly of God in Newburgh, New York. It's always nice to go back and see people from yesteryear. Please pray that I will be a blessing to the people in this church and that the Word of God will challenge the ears of those who hear its message.

It seems that summer is flying by now. The daylight is quickly shortening in the sky. Although I hate to see this happen, my heart is blessed to know that no matter what the season, Jesus remains the same. He is good and His love endure forever! Be blessed in that knowledge today.

Choose God

Good morning. Finally, the weather has cooled down and some much needed rain arrived.

This coming Sunday, I will be preaching at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in McClellandtown, Pennsylvania. It's been several years since I've ministered there so it will be nice to return. Please pray that the Lord will bless and touch lives in these services. Also pray that I have safe travels to and from.

I'm presently reading through the Book of Deuteronomy. Moses takes the time in this Book to remind the children of Israel that it was God who had brought them through the desert and had performed all the miraculous events that had brought them to the entrance to the Promise Land. He reminds the people to chose to serve the Lord with all their heart and never to turn from Him. That's not a bad reminder for us today. Choose life...choose God!

Busy Days

Good morning everyone. It is a humid one outside!

I've got a very busy schedule for the next few days. This coming Friday and Saturday, I will be ministering at the youth retreat for First Assembly of God in Port Jervis, New York. The event is called "The Experience" and I ask that you pray that each young person would have a personal and genuine experience with Jesus Christ. Then on Sunday through Wednesday, I will be ministering in my yearly series of revival meetings at Tunkhannock Assembly of God in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. I have formed a great bond with this church over the years and ask that you pray that the Lord will once again use these meetings to encourage and uplift His people.

This morning, I was reading through the Book of 1 Corinthians. Chapter 15 tells us about the believer's final victory, when we will exchange our earthly bodies for heavenly ones. Jesus has won the victory and it is now given to us. Like the Apostle Paul, I glad announce the words of 1 Corinthians 15:57 "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Death and hell have been defeated! Our victory is assured though our hope and trust in Jesus Christ.
