New Beginnings

Good morning everyone. I hope that each of you can enjoy the sunshine that's presently peeking out here in northeastern Pennsylvania.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Our Father's House in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This new church was recently formed when two churches merged, Word Fellowship from Old Forge and Providence Full Gospel Tabernacle in Scranton. Because I have ministered at each of these churches many times, it will be nice to once again return under a new name and preach to friends of my ministry. Please pray that the Lord will use me to encourage this congregation with a Word that will touch and minister to the hearts of those who will be in attendance.

In just a few short days, 2011 will begin. I love new beginnings because they allow us to start with a clean slate, a fresh start. Although things aren't always clear and the future can seem puzzling, when your life is in the hands of God, you can be certain that He will lead and guide through whatever comes your way. Let me share with you my theme verse for 2011.

Isaiah 58:11
The LORD will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

The Lord promises to guide, supply and strengthen us for the journey ahead. May we diligently plod onward together with Him.

Happy journeys to each of you in the New Year.

Merry Christmas To All

The hustle and bustle of this season are in full force upon us. I have been to numerous Christmas parties, eaten what seems to be tons of food, shopped, wrapped presents, baked cookies, gone caroling and done many more holiday activities. Yet in it all, I have had the most wonderful sense of the Presence of Jesus in my life. He truly came to be Emmanuel, God with us. There have been moments in the past few weeks when His Presence has so touched my life that tears, happy tears begin to form in my eyes.

It is at this time when I wish each of you a Merry Christmas. Take a moment and look at those words. The word merry implies lightheartedness and joy. May each of you know that this Christmas. May your Christmas season not be filled with stress, but rather with the joy that comes from having Christ in your life. Like the changed Mr. Scrooge, may your heart be "as light as a feather" know that your sins have been taken away. And as you look at the word Christmas, you will notice that it is impossible to exist without Christ. Christmas is Jesus. The reason Christmas exists is because Jesus came to this earth as the ultimate gift of a loving God who desired that we be in relationship with Him. That is the good news which the angels foretold thousands of years ago on a Bethlehem night that still resounds this day...Christ the Savior is born!

Merry Christmas to one and all and may the Lord of heaven and earth who came as a baby once again fill your life with every good and perfect gift.

Another Yearly Tradition

Good morning everyone. The cold grip of winter definitely has its hold on northeastern Pennsylvania.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at the Tunkhannock Assembly of God in Tunkhannock, PA. Every year, Pastor Rick Womer invites me to share with his congregation on the second Sunday of December. It's become a yearly tradition. Please pray that the people will catch the essence of what I will be sharing...that Jesus is the Gift that keeps on giving.

In the past few days, I have found myself caught up in much of the traditional December happenings, Christmas parties, writing Christmas cards and shopping. Yet deep in my heart, I sense the Presence of the One for whom this season exists. Emmanuel, God is with us, with me and that thought brings great peace and joy to my heart. That is the reason to wish others a Merry Christmas. So to each of you today, I wish you the peace and presence of the One who reigns the entire universe yet also lives within our hearts. Christ, the Savior is born!

Christmas Time Is In The Air

Good morning. Christmas is in the air. I think I almost hear angels singing this morning.

I will be preaching my yearly Christmas message this morning in my home church, the Green Ridge Assembly of God. It is always a joy to share what I sense in my spirit with my church family concerning this Holy of holidays. Jesus came to earth as a baby, fully God and fully man. Let all the world rejoice!

Later this evening, I will be preaching at the Peckville Assembly of God in Peckville, Pennsylvania. It has been many years since I've graced that church's pulpit and I look forward to sharing the power of God's Word with that congregation.

Earlier in the week, while I was reading my Bible, the Holy Spirit dropped the following thought into my heart. If one knows the Word of God then they will also know the God of the Word. May His Word be alive in your heart today. It was the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us.

Joy To the World...especially to those of you who pray and support my ministry.
