Christmas Preaching

Good morning everyone.  It's Saturday and it's quiet on my block.

Tomorrow, I will be ministering at Tunkhannock Assembly of God in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania.  Each December, Pastor Rick Womer invites me to bring a Christmas message to His congregation.  It is a joy to speak about the true meaning of Christmas...Jesus Christ.  The joy and peace that only Jesus brings are for all to receive.

This Christmas season finds me running to many Christmas parties and get togethers with friends and family.  I love this time of the year because it gives this evangelist who spends a large portion of my year on the road the chance to bond with people back home.  Relationships are so very important.  At this Christmas time, may we realize that the greatest gifts we give are not the presents we place under a tree, rather the greatest gift is giving of oneself to others.  Isn't that what Jesus did for us?  Isn't that what we should be doing today?

Let me wish each of you a Christmas that is filled with the love, joy and peace of Jesus Christ the Lord.  Thank you for standing with me in your prayers.

Ministering at Church and College

Good morning everyone.  Most of you have probably had your fill of turkey by now.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at New Covenant Assembly of God in Montgomery, Pennsylvania.  Pastor Jim & Holly Pentz, friends of mine since our Valley Forge Christian College days, are the founding pastors of this church and still lead it many years later.  Please pray that I would bring an uplifting word to those who will be in attendance.  Many today in the body of Christ need to be uplifted in their faith.

Then on Monday, I will have the wonderful privilege of speaking in chapel at Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Don Meyer, the college's president, asked me to share my testimony of battling breast cancer with the administration, staff and student body of VFCC.  God is faithful and good!

Thanksgiving may be over for 2012, but may the spirit of Thanksgiving continue with us each day as we now enter the Christmas season.  An attitude of gratitude is something we should always possess.  There are so many blessings from God in our lives.  And yes, I'm even grateful for the leftovers from the turkey dinner that are still in my refrigerator.

God bless you all today.

Thankful for Mill City Assembly of God

Good evening everyone.  It was a productive day for me.  Yard work was one of the big tasks of the day.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Mill City Assembly of God in Dalton, Pennsylvania where my friends, Pastors Jim and Dorothy Rugg lead this wonderful congregation.  I enjoy ministering at Mill City because it is a church that wants to see God move.  Please pray that I will be a preacher whose message is a timely word for those who will attend.  Surely it is the Lord's desire to touch lives in these last days.

Thanksgiving.  What does that word make you think of?  Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and all the trimmings.  For me, Thanksgiving is more about an attitude than food.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Thanksgiving dinner, but as Christians, we should be a people who are all about thanks giving.  I'm so thankful that Jesus has saved my soul.  I'm very thankful to the Lord for allowing me to beat breast cancer.  I'm so grateful for the opportunity to minister as an evangelist and preach the Word of God.  I'm thankful for family and friends who love me.  I'm thankful for a home church who greatly supports me and my ministry.  And I'm not just thankful on Thanksgiving Day.  I'm thankful every day.  As I've said many times this year, every day is a gift from God.

I'm thankful for those of you who stand with me in prayer.  May there be many things that you can give thanks for in this blessed season.

Unleashed and Passing Along The Torch of Faith

Good morning everyone!  As I sit in my hotel room, I can hear the other guests loading their cars and heading out on their journeys.  I too will join them shortly.

This coming Friday thru Sunday, I will be preaching at the Potomac District Girls Only Ministries Retreat.  What that basically means is I'll be ministering to a bunch of high school girls.  I love the opportunity to invest in the lives of teenagers for I realize the great responsibility of passing along our Pentecostal faith unto the next generation.  Please pray that the Lord will do wonderful things in the lives of these young ladies.  I will preach on the theme, "Unleashed" on Friday night.  On Saturday night, I will speak on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  Please pray that many girls and sponsors will receive this much needed power from on high.

In Lamentations 3:22, the Word of God reminds us that the Lord's mercies are new every morning.  I'm so grateful for that thought because no matter how difficult any yesterday was, the Lord is willing to give us a fresh new start today.  Also, He has a never ending supply of His great love and mercy that He wishes to deposit into our lives.  With great confidence, we can face each new day in the power and the strength of Jesus.

May each of you live in the new mercies of our Lord and Savior this day.

Virginia Is For...Me

Good afternoon everyone.  I am grateful that Hurricane Sandy did not do extensive damage here in northeastern Pennsylvania.  May God give grace and strength to those who have lost so much in this storm.

This coming Sunday through Wednesday, I will be ministering at Life Church in Broadway, Virginia, where Pastors Brian and Victoria Gillispie have lead this church for many years.  All of us are long time friends from our days when we attended Valley Forge Christian College together.  Please pray that I will bring an encouraging Word to the fine people in this church.  They also were strong supporters of me last year when I battled breast cancer.  I want to bless these people in the power of our Lord.

Clouds.  That's about all I've been watching the past several days.  Things have been very gloomy outside since Hurricane Sandy began impacting the northeast.  Even though the clouds have been in abundance, it's good to remember that behind those clouds, the sun is still shining and will eventually come out once again.  My life at times has felt like the recent weather, cloudy and gloomy day after day.  There have been stretches in my life when day after day, the darkness of the situation at hand surrounded me.  You've probably been there too.  It's good to remind ourselves that even in those lonely, dark days, the Son of God is still shining and reigning behind those clouds.  No matter what, God is still in control.

May the Face of our Lord smile down upon you with all of His wonderful grace and joy.

God is in Control

Good morning everyone.  Right now, a thunderstorm is moving through northeastern Pennsylvania.  Sometimes, I think the sound of rain is so very soothing.

This coming Sunday through Wednesday, I will be ministering at the Rig Assembly of God in Rig, West Virginia, where my friends Pastor Brad and Teri Taylor lead this congregation.  This church is a huge supporter of my ministry, not just last year when I was battling breast cancer, but all the time.  Please pray that these meetings will be blessed by the presence of the Lord and that lives will be touched with God's grace and peace.

I just finished reading through the Book of Job.  The last few chapters are very humbling where God speaks to Job about the Lord creating the universe and several very strong animals that roam the earth.  I find great comfort in those chapters because they allow me to know that since God created everything, He is more than able to control everything, including the events in our lives.  There's no surprises for the Lord.  He knows it all and has known it all since the very beginning of time.

Rest in that thought today.

Adirondack View

Good evening everyone.  Today was a beautiful fall day.

This coming Friday through Sunday, I will be ministering at Crossway Assembly of God in Woodbourne, New York.  Pastor Ismael Berrios has been a friend mine since my youth pastoring days in the Hudson Valley many years ago.  Please pray that the Lord will bless these services and that the Word of God will bring encouragement and a fresh touch from the Lord.  People can certainly use both of those.

Yesterday, an interesting thing happened to me.  While talking with a pastor, my phone stopped working.  Well, actually, it half stopped working.  You see, the pastor could hear me but I couldn't hear him.  I had to go out and buy a new cordless phone today that is presently charging.  That episode made me wonder if sometimes that's how we treat our relationship with God.  He always hears us.  He knows everything.  But how many times do we not hear His voice when the Lord is talking to us.  Something is wrong on our end of the relationship that keeps us from clearly hearing His voice.  When that does happen, I'm grateful that we can ask the Lord to forgive us of our sins and our distractions that have allowed the communication lines to not work right.  Then, we can recharge our spiritual batties through the power of the Holy Spirit.  I want to always hear when God is talking to me.

Have a most blessed night.

West Virginia, Here I Come

Good afternoon everyone.  It is a beautiful fall afternoon.  I wouldn't mind to have a few more days like today.

This coming Sunday through Wednesday, I will be ministering at Lighthouse Assembly of God in Paw Paw, West Virginia.  Please pray that the Lord will bless these meetings with His presence and power.  If there was ever a time when we needed them, it is now.

I just finished reading thru the Gospel of Mark.  One of the great themes of Mark is that Jesus is the Servant King.  Servant leadership was drilled into my life while I was a Bible College student at Valley Forge Christian College.  To lead means that you serve.  If we all approached life that way, can you imagine the drastic difference that would be in the church and society today.

May today bring you God's grace in a mighty way.

A Weekend of Ministry

Good morning everyone.  It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood.  Mr. Rogers would be proud!

This coming Saturday and Sunday, I will be ministering at Family Harvest Fellowship in Liberty, Pennsylvania, where Harry Colegrove serves as Pastor.  On Saturday night, I will minister at a Ladies event and on Sunday to the entire church.  Please pray that the Lord will bless this time of ministry as I bring a word of encouragement to this church.  May the Lord prompt people to draw closer to Him and His Word.

Like everyone else, sometimes I get anxious about things.  This morning as I was reading the Bible, the Lord used a verse to bring comfort to my soul.  Psalm 93:19 says, "In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul."  It was one of those, 'Hey Gayle, stop and listen to my Word' moments.  How grateful I am to know that the Lord really is in control of everything.  I hope you also take that to heart today.

Enjoy today and know that God is still on the throne.

But God

Good morning everyone! I hope you are enjoying the last few days of summer as it is winding down.

This coming Sunday, like I have on Labor Day weekend for many years, I will be preaching in my home church, the Green Ridge Assembly of God in Scranton, Pennsylvania.  I'm going to preach a sermon entitled, "But God..."  The intervention of God in the lives of people is incredibly wonderful.  As we look at that this Sunday, please pray that lives and hearts will be challenged and changed.

I'm looking forward to next week when my best friend, Diane, and I will be going on vacation to Dewey Beach.  It is a much needed time of relaxation and fun.  Looks like there will be no hurricanes on our horizon for which I'm grateful.

God bless you all and stay strong in Him.

Blessed

Good morning everyone!  It is a beautiful outside today!  Sunshine is a wonderful thing.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Abundant Life Assembly of God in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where Walt Smith serves as Lead Pastor.  I look forward to sharing the Word of God with this congregation and ask that you would pray that souls would be added to the kingdom of God and that lives would be touched and changed.

This morning in my devotions, I read the following scripture in John 1:16, "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another."  I recently bought a new vanity license plate for my car which simply says "Blessed" because that's how I feel.  I'm blessed to be alive after battling cancer.  I'm blessed to have a Savior who never leaves my side.  I'm blessed to have a wonderful church family who supports me.  I'm blessed to have family and friends who care about me.  I'm blessed to travel as an evangelist for over 18 years and minister the Word of God to people's lives.  I'm blessed to have a home, clothes and food to eat.  My list of blessings just goes on and on....."one blessing after another".

May your day and your life be blessed in Christ.

Glad To Go

Good morning everyone.  It is a hazy summer day.  I sort of like days like today.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in McClellandtown, Pennsylvania.  I know I keep repeating myself this year on my blog, but this was another church who stood by my side last year in my fight against breast cancer.  Please pray that I bring an encouraging message to the hearts of those who attend these services.  We need to help each other in our journey of walking with the Lord.

Right now, I am reading through the crucifixion story of Christ in the Gospel of Matthew.  What Jesus did for mankind on the cross is so wonderful and good.  He paid the price for sins of men and women just like you and me.  He took my place.  How can I ever repay Him except to give Him my entire life...willingly.  Thank God for the cross of Calvary!

May each of you be blessed today!

Tunkhannock is the Place

Good morning everyone!  Rain seems to be on the agenda for today.

This coming Sunday through Wednesday, I will be ministering at a very familiar church, the Tunkhannock Assembly of God in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania.  The people in this church are dear to me and they were huge supporters of me last year as I battled cancer and I look forward to thanking them in person.  Please pray that the Lord will move in these meetings and the body of Christ will be built up and encouraged.

I'm reading through 2 Chronicles at the moment.  It always amazes me that godly king in Judah could very easily be followed by a very ungodly king, even though the kings were usually the son of his predecessor.  I guess it all comes down to a personal choice of serving the Lord.  "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...as for me...( I ) will serve the Lord."  (Joshua 24:15)  Choose wisely, my friends.

God bless each of you and enjoy your day.

At A Crossroads

Good afternoon.  Can you believe it's August already?  Summer is flying by.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Crossroads Assembly of God in Newburgh, New York, where Pastor Manny Montalvo leads this congregation.  Pastor Manny will always be very special to me because I was his youth pastor while he was going through his high school years.  I was there when God really got a hold of his life, on missions trips and when he became the youth group worship leader.  Now he is the pastor of this church.  Please pray that the Lord will use my words to encourage the people of this church.

I'm reading through the Book of 1 Chronicles.  There's a whole lot of numbers in this book.  Numbers are important.  I've always like the following saying: 3 nails + 1 cross = 4given.  Sometimes numbers say it best.

God bless you all today!

Nicholson Bound

Good morning everyone.  We had quite the storm last night.  I'm grateful that the power wasn't out for too long.

This coming Sunday thru Wednesday, I will be ministering at Trinity Assembly of God in Nicholson, Pennsylvania, where Pastor Kevin Compton leads this congregation.  Please pray that the Lord will bless these services and encourage those who attend.  A little bit of encouragement can go a long way in the body of Christ.

I'm presently reading through the Book of Daniel.  I love the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in chapter 3.  When their whole world was bowing down to a false god, they remained true to the Lord.  Seems to me that we need a little bit more of that same backbone in Christianity today.  Our God is the way, the truth and the life.  May our hearts and knees only bow to Him.

Be blessed today and thanks for all your prayers.

Going To A Wonderful Place

Good morning everyone.  It is a cloudy day.  We desperately need rain and I wish the skies would open up for an all day drenching.

This coming Friday through Sunday, I will be ministering at a place that I hold very dear to my heart, Community Assembly of God in Lowville, New York.  It was at this church back in the early 1990's that I served as their Youth Pastor.  What wonderful memories flood my memory as I go back to minister.  Pastor Keith Edick was actually a lay person in the congregation when I was on staff, but now he leads this church.  Please pray that the Lord will bless these meetings with His power and love.

I turned a year older this week and I gladly welcomed that event.  Wisdom comes with age but even greater wisdom comes from God.  The events that transpired in my life last year while fighting breast cancer have given me a new perspective on life.  Love God with all that you have.  Let others know that you love them.  Do the right thing no matter what.  Laugh and let joy abide in your heart.  Every day is a gift from God.  I'd like to use the rest of my days, however many there may be for the glory of God.

Be blessed today in Jesus.

Preaching In The New Church Building

Good morning everyone. It's going to be a hot one out there today.

This Sunday, I will be ministering at Greater Valley Assembly of God in Athens, Pennsylvania.  Although I've ministered at this church several times before, this will be the first time I preach in their new building that they have recently moved into.  Please pray that the Lord will bless and touch lives with the power of the Gospel message.  The Word of God is truth and it still changes lives today.

I want to thank the Lord for helping me through a recent scare.  I couple weeks ago, I complained of pain just below my mastectomy scar.  My oncologist sent me for a CAT Scan.  It showed no problems near my scar but it did show that I have a goiter on my thyroid.  Next, my oncologist sent me for a sonogram which showed I had nodules on my thyroid which she didn't know what to make of them.  Last Friday, she sent me for a thyroid biopsy.  As I waited for the news over the weekend, I tried not to let myself go to that place where it's the worst news.  On Monday, Dr. Liptock called and said that everything is fine.  Praise the Lord!  It's not cancer and I can move forward.  Trusting the Lord isn't always easy, but there is comfort and hope in it.  He knows the path ahead of me and you.  He charts our steps.  We can trust Him.

God bless you all and thanks for your prayers.

Good From Bad...Only God Can Do That

Good evening everyone.  I was just sitting on my deck watching the moon and the fireflies light up the sky.  From the distance the sound of fireworks makes it way through the evening air.  It is a lovely night on Harrison Street tonight.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at my favorite church which is my home church, the Green Ridge Assembly of God.  I will be preaching a message entitled, "God Meant It For Good" which speaks of the life of Joseph and how God made something good out of all the terrible things he went through.  We've all had terrible things happen to us in life.  Jesus Christ can still work good through the difficult times in our lives.  Please pray that this message will cause people to let go of the past and hold onto Jesus.

I'm reading through 1 Corinthians right now.  Let me share a verse with you. 1 Corinthians 1:27 says, "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong."  Yep...that's me.  I'm foolish and weak still God chooses to call and use me for His glory.  His power is made strong in my weakness.  Let's hear it for all the weak people who have allowed the power of God to be seen in them.

Happy summer evening to all....and to all a good night.  God bless.

A New England Jaunt

Good morning everyone. Even though it is still early, it's already a hot one outside.

This coming Friday thru Sunday morning, I will be ministering at Faith Chapel Assembly of God in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where Rev. James Pierce serves as Pastor. On Sunday evening, I will be speaking at the Keene Assembly of God in Keene, New Hampshire. Please pray for these services that the Lord will encourage and touch people with His Spirit. I keep saying that people just need a little encouragement in their walk with God.

Summer has arrived and for that I am very happy. Last year at this time, due to my chemotherapy, I was not allowed to be out in the sun or do very much, but this year is a different story. My tan is well under way and I enjoy going here and there, especially to Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone. In this summer season, let me encourage you to not put the Lord on the back burner in your life. No matter what season it may be, He still deserves our time, attention and praise.

Happy summer and thanks for all your prayers.

Friends & Girls Only Retreat

Rain. We've had a lot of it today. My flowers are very happy. This coming Thursday thru Saturday, I will be ministering at an event that I've so been looking forward to, the Penn\Del District Friends and Girls Only Retreat at our district campgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I will be speaking to junior high and high school girls from across my district. I've got some messages which I feel are straight from the heart of God. Please pray that the Lord will bless this retreat and that the girls and their sponsors who attend will be greatly touched by God. Also, pray that on Friday night when I preach on the baptism of the Holy Spirit that many will receive this wonderful gift from above. God is good. We say that so many times, but I truly believe that He IS good! There are so many things that have happened to me recently which causes my heart to be filled with gratitude. Never forget that no matter what the circumstances are that you might be facing, the Lord remains good. He is not dictated by situations. Jesus is God and He will always be good. Hold that deep in your heart today. Thanks again for all your prayers. ~ Gayle

Back To Central Pennsylvania

Today was a lovely day despite the huge rain storm we had about an hour ago. Now I don't have to water my plants tonight because of good old nature. This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, where Rev. Dan Winters leads this church as pastor. I've ministered here many times and seen the Lord do wonderful things in the past. Please pray that the Lord will do great and wonderful things again. I don't want to live off the past...there is a fresh touch of God for today. I've just begun reading through Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy 4:9 says "Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live." I believe it was the cartoon character, Elmer Fudd, who used to say, "Be very careful" in his unmistakable voice. Some how, I think the Holy Spirit says the same thing, to be very careful to hold onto all that He has spoken into our lives. Let's not slip slide away but remain steadfast in our walk with Christ. Walk on, friends and be strong in His might. Blessings to you. Gayle

A New Spin On The Usual

Good evening everyone. I just got done cutting the grass and watering my flowers. If you didn't know, I really like having flowers in my yard. This coming Friday through Sunday, I will be ministering at the New Stanton Assembly of God in New Stanton, Pennsylvania, where Don Immel serves at Lead Pastor. Pastor Don has put a new spin on these meetings by calling this weekend "Encounter", a pre-summer in-house retreat. I love when pastors get creative and bring excitement to meetings before they even begin. Please pray that all who attend will have a genuine and personal power encounter with God. This is going to be one great weekend. I'm reading through the Book of Leviticus. Most people probably don't rate this particular book to be one of the more exciting books of the Bible, but there are some real tidbits of wisdom in its content. In chapter 14, it talks about the process of how people are to become ceremonially clean. The priest would anoint a person's right ear, the thumb of their right hand and their big toe on their right foot with blood and oil. Today, we still need those two things from the Lord to make us clean. We need the blood of Jesus to forgive us and we also need His fresh oil in our lives to be anointed. I want to hear correctly, do justly and walk humbly with my God. Be blessed today in His presence. Gayle

Pentecost Sunday

Good morning everyone! It's sunny, warm and beautiful outside. I love summer weather! Although most people will refer to this coming Sunday as part of Memorial Day weekend, I prefer to refer to it as another day. This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. I love this day and I love the fact that I will be preaching about the Holy Spirit in my home church, the Green Ridge Assembly of God in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Pastor Dave Twiss, my friend and pastor, informed me that he did a four week series leading up to my message on the baptism of the Holy Spirit this coming Sunday. We are believing for the Holy Spirit to fill and touch many lives. It is not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of Hosts! Can I get an "Amen" out there? I'm reading through 2 Samuel right now. The life of David has always intrigued me. He had many victories and also some major failings. But through it all, he was a man who had a heart after God. I suppose most of our lives are like David's. There are times when we win the battles and struggles of life and then there are times when we fall flat on our face. Yet through all of life's experiences, may we have hearts that follow hard after the Lord. Something to think about today. May your heart be His today. Blessings to you all. ~ Gayle

A Heart After God.

Good morning everyone! What a beautiful Saturday is on the way. :) This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at the Ellenville Assembly of God in Ellenville, New York, where Pastor Brenda Cates leads this church. Once again, this was a church that stood by me last year as I battled cancer. Please pray that the Lord will bless and encourage this congregation with the words that I will preach. I really believe that people just need a word of encouragement to continue in their walk with God. I'm reading through 1 Samuel. Saul, the disobedient king of Israel has been rejected by God and now the Lord is telling the prophet Samuel to go anoint another man to become king of Israel. 1 Samuel 16:7 says, "The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." I'm so grateful that the Lord looks beyond the things this world says are important, like beauty and looks, and sees what is really important, a heart that longs to serve Him. May your heart follow hard after God today. Gayle

Mother's Day Weekend

Good afternoon everyone. There is still a chill in the air on this spring afternoon. It's Mother's Day weekend and I've got a busy one. On Saturday, I will be speaking at a Ladies Tea at the Clarks Green Assembly of God in Clarks Green, Pennsylvania. On Sunday, I will be ministering at Hollentown Assembly of God in Fallentimber, Pennsylvania. This was another church that so graciously stood by my side with prayers and finances as I battled breast cancer. Please pray that the messages I speak will touch hearts with the truth of the Gospel. This generation desperately needs to hear the truth that can set them free. Truth. The only real truth I know is found in Jesus Christ and the Word of God. It transforms lives and delivers people from bondage. It brings healing and wholeness to the broken hearted. All one has to do is accept the truth of Jesus. His truth still opens eyes, spiritually and physically, today. May the Truth be with you. ~ Gayle

Off To Northern New Jersey

Good evening everyone. I sure have enjoyed the summer-like weather we had today in northeastern Pennsylvania. This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at a new place, Cornerstone Church Assembly of God in Carlstadt, New Jersey, where John Pra serves as pastor. John, his wife Diana and I attended Valley Forge Christian College together a "few" years ago. It's always a privilege to walk into a new church and share the Word of God with people and even though I will walk into a new church on Sunday, we serve the same Father in heaven and a connection is instantly made. Please pray that the Lord will move, touch and change lives. I'm reading through the Book of Revelation once again. We look at our world today and easily can point out the havoc and hardships that presently exist around us but they are nothing compared to the event that will happen during the Tribulation years. As believers, we can rest assured knowing that before such things ever take place, our Lord promises to deliver us when He comes to rapture the church. I look forward to that day, but while we wait there is still much to do for His kingdom. When Jesus does reture, may the Lord find us faithful and working for Him. Keep looking up, my friends. :) Gayle

Love To Preach Locally

Good evening everyone. The rain has moved in for the evening. Seems like we are getting the cooler March weather in April. This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Cross Road Assembly in Moscow, Pennsylvania, which is only about 12 miles away from where I live. Cross Road Assembly is a monthly supporting church of my evangelistic ministry and they greatly blessed me last year when I battled breast cancer. I am so appreciative of their love and support. Please pray that the Lord will touch all who attend these meetings with His grace and strength. How the Lord wants to bless His people! I've been reading about the lives of the prophets Elijah and Elisha in 1 & 2 Kings. What tremendous men of God they were! They were not afraid to speak the truth to a society that was living far from truth. They prayed and believed God for miracles and miracles happened. I want my life to emulate those same things. I want to speak the truth to people and see miracles happen. The same God that was with Elijah and Elisha is with you and me today. May we believe. May we see with our own eyes the wonders of the Lord. May the keeping power of Jesus surround you today. Gayle

Going to Jersey

Good morning everyone. What a beautiful spring day the Lord has given to us to enjoy! :)

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at New Beginning Assembly of God in Paulsboro, New Jersey. Pastor Joe Bordenga and I attended Valley Forge Christian College together so it's always nice to minister along side of a life-long friend. This church was one that financially and prayerfully blessed my life last year as I battled cancer. Please pray that the messages I preach will be a great encouragement to this congregation.

There's a scripture in the Bible that I love which simply says, "And it came to pass..." Last year at this time, I was entering a very dark period in my life as I fought breast cancer. God was faithful to see me through. You may be facing difficult times at the present. Know that this too will come to pass and that the Lord will walk with you through the hard times. Our God is faithful and true.

May each of you be blessed today in His presence.

West Virginia Roads

Good morning everyone. I hope you are enjoying this sunny day!

This coming Sunday through Wednesday, I will be ministering at Good Shepherd Assembly of God in Elkins, West Virginia, where Roger Foster serves as pastor. I've preached here many times and this was another church who really stuck by me last year when I was battling cancer. Please pray that I will bless and encourage this church with the Word of God.

I just finished reading through Isaiah this morning. There are so many wonderful themes in that Book. Isaiah 53 speaks about the crucifixtion of our Lord which would happen hundreds of years later. I'm so grateful that Jesus is our Savior. He died for me and for you. He lives and now we live in and for Him! What a wonderful Savior He is!

An Assortment of Ministry

Good evening everyone. In the last 24 hours I've gone from having a stomach virus to feeling much better. Sure glad that's over with.

This coming weekend, I have a very busy schedule. On Saturday, I will be preaching at the South Central West Ladies Spring Rally in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The theme is "Engage! Fight the good fight!" I'm believing the Lord to touch and encourage many women that day. On Sunday morning, I will be ministering at Grace Assembly of God in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Doug Price, one of my friends from my Bible college days at VFCC, pastors this church. On Sunday night, I'll be preaching at First Assembly of God in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania where my friends, Chris and Cheryl Golembiowski have lead this church for many years. Please pray that I will be a blessing to these churches and that the Lord will simply have His way.

It was one year ago this week that my journey through cancer began. God has been so faithful to see me through. There were many lessons learned along that way that I would never have grasped had I not walked this road. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that when you walk with God, no matter where the road goes, as long as He is with you, everything will be okay.

God's blessings to you all. Enjoy today...it is a gift from God.

Going to Eastern Maryland

Good evening everyone. I admit...I forgot to write my weekly ministry email earlier. It was a busy day.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering in two different churches in eastern Maryland. In the morning, I will preach at Catonsville Assembly of God in Baltimore, where my friends since our VFCC Bible college days pastor, Tim and Geri Baldwin. It's always a privilege to minister in their church. In the evening, I will preach at Edgewood Assembly of God in Edgewood, Maryland where Stephen Schuessler serves as pastor. Both of these churches were tremendous blessings to me last year during my battle with breast cancer. I am grateful that these pastors always warmly welcome me to their pulpits. Please pray that as I share my testimony of my journey through cancer that I will return the blessing back to these wonderful congregations.

We've been experiencing the most incredible weather here in Virginia this week. I wrote this on my Facebook page this morning, "Beautiful morning. Beautiful Savior". The weather has been beautiful but Jesus is even morn beautiful and wonderful. I hope each of you find Him to be all that you need in whatever you are presently facing.

Thanks again for standing with me in your prayers.

Revival Services and Cherry Blossoms

Hello everyone. I am absolutely loving this warm stretch of weather we have been having. Spring fever is a symptom that I definitely have!

This coming Sunday through Wednesday, I will be ministering in revival meetings at Highway Assembly of God in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Pastor Dick Jackson, his family and church staff have become good friends over the years that I've ministered there. People in their church are praying for these services. They've even set up a special event page on Facebook to promote these services. I expect the Lord to do great things during my time there. When people come expecting, the Lord is always sure to show up! Please join us in prayer that Jesus will simply have His way.

Right now I'm reading in Genesis for my devotions. The creation story in Genesis chapter 1 is incredible. In six days, the Lord created all that we see, the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the oceans, the animals, the birds and the trees. And God saw that it was good. All creation tells of His wonder and majesty. I'm looking forward to seeing some of God's beautiful creation, specifically the cherry blossom trees while I'm in Virginia next week.

Thanks for all you prayers. They really do matter. Blessings to you all!

Preaching in Northeast Pennsylvania

Hello everyone. It's a rainy night here and I'm getting ready to watch the women's team from Valley Forge Christian College play in the national tournament. Go Patriots!

This coming Saturday and Sunday, I will be preaching at The Gathering Christian Center in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. Pastor Frank Garcia and his congregation so supported me last year during my battle with breast cancer and I want to go and bless this church with an encouraging word from God. On Saturday, I will minister to the women and on Sunday to the entire church. Please pray that the Lord will touch many hearts.

Job...there's a guy in the Bible who had his share of troubles. Lost his children, lost his wealth, lost his health. Yet he kept his faith in the Lord. Job said in Job 13:15 "Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him." As Christians, we need to remember that even in the bad times, our hope must still be in Jesus Christ. He really does take care of His own.

Blessings to all of you and thanks for all your prayers.

Being With Friends Who Are Life Family

Good evening everyone. It was a good day for me. My oncologist's office gave me a good report. I'm so very thankful to the Lord for being healthy once again.

This coming Friday through Sunday, I will be ministering at a very familiar church, Calvary Assembly of God in Wilmington, Delaware. Their Pastor, Nick Piscitelli, was my senior pastor for the first 11 years that I served as Staff Evangelist at my home church in Scranton. The Piscitelli's are like family to me and I've also come to greatly appreciate the people at Calvary Assembly. Please pray that the Lord will touch lives this weekend. I also ask that you would pray for me physically. This is my first full crusade since being back on the road and I find that preaching takes a great deal out of me.

I've said this many times since my batlle with cancer, but one of my new themes in life is "Everyday is a gift from God". I'm so thankful for the little things in life like laughter, a hug, getting up in the morning and a simple breath of air. So many things are taken for granted and yet God so freely gives these things to us every day. I hope that you will stop and enjoy the simple blessings of life.

You are all a blessing to me and I'm thankful for your support and prayers.

Let's Go South

Good afternoon everyone. It's almost been like a spring day today. What a very different and warmer winter we've had this year. :)

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at the Hancock Assembly of God in Hancock, Maryland. This is the first time I'll be preaching outside of Pennsylvania since I was diagnosed with third stage breast cancer last May and if you can't tell, I'm excited! I'm excited because of what the Lord can accomplish in these meetings and I'm excited to once again be preaching the Word of God. Please remember me in your prayers as I travel and minister.

I'm reading through the Book of Proverbs. It is filled with what I would call divine tidbits of wisdom from above, small phrases and sentences that are filled with godly advice. Proverbs 8:13 says, "To fear the LORD is to hate evil." We live in a day when society has said that what is evil is good and what is good is evil. But God's Word does not change over time, rather it remains true. May we love the Lord and cling to what is good.

God bless you all today.

Sent By Jesus

Good afternoon to everyone on this cloudy day. We missed another shot of snow last night and that makes me happy.

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at the Dickson City Assembly of God in Dickson City, Pennsylvania. My new friends, Pastor Jim and Julie Dinger just took over being pastor of this church in the last year. Please pray that the Lord will give me an in season word for this congregation. All I really want is to walk into churches and be an encouragement to the pastor and congregation. We all need a little "pat on the back" in our walk with the Lord.

Presently, I'm reading through the Book of Mark. In Mark 6:7, the Bible says, "he (Jesus) sent them out." I love that thought. When Jesus sends you out, you need not fear for His stamp of approval and game plan are on it. That's what I love about being an evangelist. When I was younger, I never desired to be an evangelist, rather I was called of God. Literally, it is Jesus who sends me out to preach His Word. How excited I am to be on the road again, fulfilling the call of God and knowing that I am in His hands.

In whatever Jesus has sent you to do, may you find joy in the journey.

Home Church Preaching

Good evening everyone. I'm settling in for a snow storm tonight...not my most favorite thing to be coming my way.

This coming Sunday, I will be preaching in my home church, the Green Ridge Assembly of God in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It is always such a joy for me to share the Word of God with the people who I call my own church family. I will be sharing a message entitled "The Greatest Love Story". It is taken from the story of Ruth in the Old Testament. Please pray that the love of God will invade the hearts of all who hear.

I just want to let everyone know that I received a very good report from my radiologist this week. It was such a good report that he told me to skip my 3 month checkup and not come back for 6 months. I am so very grateful for the strength and recovery that the Lord is bringing my way. Soon, I may even have to get a haircut with the way my hair is coming in. :)

Thanks again for all your prayers. Be blessed...and keep your shovel handy if you life in the northeast like me.

2012 Is Here

Good morning everyone. 2012 is here. The cold is here. Never forget, Jesus is here all the time!

This coming Sunday, I will be ministering at Our Father's House in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It's nice to be able to preach in a neighboring Pentecostal church. Pastor Bob Walls and Pastor Larry Magor lead this church as they, along with my home church, desire to touch the people of Scranton and the surrounding area with the gospel. Please pray that the Lord would have me speak a timely word to this congregation. People need to be encouraged in their faith.

It's hard to believe that another year is here. 2011 is forever gone but the lessons that were learned as I battled breast cancer will stay with me forever. Time may change but Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. With that knowledge, we can embark on our journey into the future knowing that He is absolutely in control. Presidents change, jobs change, the place we live may change, but Jesus stays the same.

Hope each of you has a blessed day in the Lord.
