Going A Different Direction

Good morning everyone. It seems that the chill of fall has begun to settle into northeastern Pennsylvania. Summer is drifting away.

This coming Sunday, I will minister at New Life Assembly of God in East Greenbush, New York, where Pastor Steve Pooley leads this congregation. Please pray that the Lord will touch those who will hear the Word of God and that they will respond with love and adoration to our Lord.

On Wednesday night in my home church, my pastor was leading the Bible study and read the following verse. James 2:25
25In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?
The Holy Spirit spoke to me through that verse that not only did the spies go a different direction, but so did Rahab for she turned from her pagan and prostitute ways to serve the One true Living God and eventually become a "great-grandmother" to Jesus Christ. When one follows Jesus today, they too must turn and go a different direction than how they once walked. Following the Lord means that one must walk against the current of this world. Jesus said, "Follow Me."
