There Is Hope

Can anyone say hot? I only wish we could hold onto summer a little longer.

This coming Sunday, as has been the tradition on Labor Day weekend for the last several years, I will preach at my home church, the Green Ridge Assembly of God in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It is always a joy to bring the Word to my church family. Please pray that the Lord will use what I'm going to speak about, the concept of having HOPE in Jesus for so many people need to find that realization for themselves.

I'm reading through 2 Chronicles at the present. The story of the kings of Judah is interesting for they seem to go back and forth as to which ones served the Lord and which ones didn't. Having a godly father did not guarantee that the son would follow the Lord. It came down to a personal choice. That is true for today. Coming from a godly home or even going to church as a child doesn't mean that one will grow up to be an adult follower of Christ. It is a personal choice. As the words to the old hymn announce, "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness." That is the source of true hope.
